Server Assistant
The Food and Beverage Server Assistant will be responsible for providing high-levels of customer service to all restaurant guests by providing prompt service, and maintaining a strong working knowledge of all menu items and daily specials. The Server Assistant will perform customer service duties in a friendly and professional manner at all times, and support the service team to ensure that the customers have an enjoyable dining experience. Other responsibilities include but are not limited to the proper setting of tables, removing used dishes and place settings, assisting with cleaning duties, and comply with all restaurant policies and procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
- Food Service: Assist with delivering food, ensuring it is served accurately and efficiently.
- Cleanliness: Maintain the cleanliness of the dining area, including tables, chairs, and other surfaces. Clear tables of dishes, glassware and re-set tables. Removing trash from the restaurant.
- Restocking: Restock necessary supplies, such as napkins, silverware, and condiments.
- Assisting Servers: Support servers by providing assistance as needed, such as taking orders, delivering items, or handling customer requests.
- Opening and Closing Duties: Participate in opening and closing duties, such as setting up or cleaning the dining area.
- Other Duties: Perform other tasks as assigned by management.
- Guest Service: Greet guests, seat them, and provide menus.
- Table Management: Clear and reset tables promptly, ensuring they are tidy and prepared for the next guests.
- Beverage Service: Fill water glasses and other beverages, and assist with preparing drinks.
- Customer Service: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are crucial for providing a positive dining experience.
- Attention to Detail: Ability to ensure tables are clean, properly set, and ready for guests.
- Physical Stamina: Ability to stand for extended periods and move around the dining area.
- Work Ethic: Strong work ethic and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Teamwork: Ability to work effectively with other staff members.
- Standing and Walking:
A server assistant will typically be on their feet for much of their shift, walking between the kitchen and dining areas. - Lifting and Carrying:
They may need to lift and carry trays of food and drinks, which can weigh up to 50 pounds or more. - Reaching:
They may need to reach overhead to access supplies or clean high areas. - Bending and Kneeling:
Bending and kneeling may be necessary for cleaning tables or setting up the dining area. - Hand-Eye Coordination:
They need good hand-eye coordination to handle dishes and equipment efficiently. - Vision:
Good vision is also necessary to spot spills, clean areas, and identify food items. - Hearing:
Good hearing is important for communicating with servers, guests, and other staff members.
